I own a Matija ebony flute (C foot, open hole, Boris magnetic pads). It is a solid instrument, meaning the mechanism feels strong & secure. The tone is rich and even throughout all octaves. The intonation is as good as any modern flute. I have played this in professional orchestras and have had no difficulty blending in the section or projecting forth for solos. It’s a good flute to own.
